Obituary


On March 29, 2015, a beautiful spring afternoon, the angels came to claim Anne for their own. She had endured declining health for sometime, which she faced courageously and graciously. Her love for those around her never wavered. Anne was born to Walter and Helen Hardy, in Beaumont TX. She attended grade school in Wichita, KS and graduated from Thomas A. Edison HS, in Tulsa, OK. She attended the University of Oklahoma, where she married and became a devoted mother to her two children. After her marriage ended, she re-entered O.U. in the early 80's....

On March 29, 2015, a beautiful spring afternoon, the angels came to claim Anne for their own. She had endured declining health for sometime, which she faced courageously and graciously. Her love for those around her never wavered. Anne was born to Walter and Helen Hardy, in Beaumont TX. She attended grade school in Wichita, KS and graduated from Thomas A. Edison HS, in Tulsa, OK. She attended the University of Oklahoma, where she married and became a devoted mother to her two children. After her marriage ended, she re-entered O.U. in the early 80's. She earned her degree as a Physician's Assistant in 1987, second in her class and almost immediately began her long career working for the O.U. Health Science Center. In August of 1986 Anne married Ronald Hitchcock and her life bloomed. Anne was always a warm and generous person with her money and her time. She set a perfect example of how to live a life to the highest standard. She always put the needs of others before her own. Anne was highly organized, fun loving and seemed to have unlimited enthusiasm. She was very active in many organizations, such as Junior League, Gamma Phi Beta Sorority, Woman of the Year, 2009 and Westminster Presbyterian Church. Anne and Ron went on numerous missions around the world and still had enough time to be active in their bicycle club trips and her neighborhood association, organizing numerous events throughout the year. Husband Ron passed away in 2005. Anne is survived by; son, David M. Watson and his wife Judy, of Oklahoma City, daughter, Jennifer Ballard, of Choctaw, step-daughter, Alisa Blevins and her husband Mark, of Edmond, Brother, Walter Hardy and his wife Kathryn of Norman, and their daughter, Amanda Hardy, of Tulsa. Grand children include; Jake Smith, Annie Ballard, Annalisa Blevins, Jantz Blevins and her Great-Grand Child, Jaedyn Smith. Funeral arrangements are by Hahn Cook Funeral, 6600 Broadway Extension, OKC, OK. Public viewing will be held Wednesday from 8AM to 8PM at the Funeral Home Wednesday, April 1st. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 2nd at 2:00 PM in the Westminster Presbyterian Church, 44th and Shartel.
