James L. Barrett died on November 27, 2016. He has passed the great divide and now knows the answers to all the unknown questions. He was born on March 3, 1934, approximately 3/4 of a mile north of Maysville, Oklahoma. He graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1952 and then served in the Air Force. While he was stationed in Amarillo, TX, he was awarded the honor of Airman of the Month in April 1956. He graduated from OBU in 1959 and from American University Law School in Washington, DC in 1963. James L. Barrett died on November 27, 2016. He has passed the great divide and now knows the answers to all the unknown questions. He was born on March 3, 1934, approximately 3/4 of a mile north of Maysville, Oklahoma. He graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1952 and then served in the Air Force. While he was stationed in Amarillo, TX, he was awarded the honor of Airman of the Month in April 1956. He graduated from OBU in 1959 and from American University Law School in Washington, DC in 1963. Jim practiced law and was an entrepreneur in Oklahoma City for 50 years. He felt his greatest accomplishment in life was finding his wife of 55 years, Gloria J. Barrett. She survives him and is the mother of his two surviving children, Hollye Nelson and Greg Barrett. He is also survived by his son-in-law Kevin Nelson, daughter-in-law Precia Barrett, three grandsons; Jack Barrett, Luke Barrett, and Brock Barrett; cousins and other relatives. He is predeceased by his parents; George Barrett and Cora Barrett; his brother, William Barrett; his daughter from a previous marriage, Tanyala Thompson; and grandson James Thompson.
